Pearl
Directed by Ti West1h 42m2022
Trapped on her family’s isolated farm, Pearl must tend to her ailing father under the bitter and overbearing watch of her devout mother. Lusting for a glamorous life like she’s seen in the movies, Pearl’s ambitions, temptations, and repressions collide.
Our read: Pearl (2022) reads as a heavy, steady, inventive horror entry — extreme in intensity, intimate in scope, cold in temperature, nihilistic in outlook.
Heavy, steady, extreme horror, inventive in texture. Nihilistic, intimate, cold.
